Benefits of softened water

How a water softener helps protect your home

Reducing water hardness helps limit limescale build-up and supports the care of your installations, household appliances, laundry and bathroom surfaces.

Shiny tap without visible limescale deposits

Less limescale

Helps reduce scale deposits on taps, showers, pipes, shower screens and bathroom surfaces.

Technician inspecting a boiler protected against limescale build-up

Greater protection

Helps protect washing machines, dishwashers, water heaters, boilers and other household appliances against limescale.

Soft wool fabric representing softer laundry

Softer laundry

Softened water supports softer laundry and may help reduce the use of detergents and fabric softeners.

Piggy bank representing savings on cleaning products

Everyday savings

Softened water can reduce the consumption of certain household cleaning products by up to 50%.

Operation

How it reduces water hardness

BLUELOGIX-iQ uses an automatic ion-exchange and regeneration process to treat the water supplied to the property.

1

Hard water enters the unit

Mains water enters the system and passes through the food-grade ion-exchange resin.

2

Water hardness is reduced

The resin retains the minerals responsible for water hardness, mainly calcium and magnesium.

3

Automatic regeneration

The controller calculates when the system must regenerate according to the volume of treated water and the selected settings.

Key concepts

What ion exchange, water hardness and regeneration mean

Water hardness

The concentration of minerals, mainly calcium and magnesium, in water. These minerals are responsible for limescale formation.

Ion exchange

The process by which the water softener resin retains the minerals responsible for water hardness.

Regeneration

The automatic cycle that uses brine to restore the treatment capacity of the resin.
