SUSTAINABILITY IN DNA
Hidro-Water obtains the UN Global Compact sustainable supplier qualification in Spain
The future is conquered little by little, and every step counts.
We have recently been certified as a sustainable supplier by the UN Global Compact Spain, and for our team this is a source of great satisfaction. This certification is a recognition of the concrete measures that the management is implementing in line with the 2030 Agenda.
Our founding principles and daily goals are aligned with the environmental SDGs, and are our guiding principles for every piece of equipment we manufacture. They are:
- SDG 6, to achieve clean water and sanitation
- SDG 9 on industry, innovation and infrastructure
- SDG 11, sustainable cities and communities
- SDG 12, responsible production and consumption
- SDG 13, climate action
The training helps us understand that there are many other actions within the company that also follow in the wake of the Sustainable Development Goals, from installing solar panels to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, to meticulously separating waste in our facilities. In addition, our ‘0’ printing policy has significantly reduced paper consumption, reflecting our commitment to SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
In the SDG related to social well-being, several points are in place that strengthen our corporate culture and our commitment to SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), such as:
- equality plan,
- sustainability report,
- complaints channel
- code of ethics.
Thanks to the sustainable supplier training we have more information that will allow us to take the next steps, such as managing the accounting of the carbon footprint generated by our daily work.
Through these actions, we reaffirm our commitment not only to measures that protect the planet, but also to those that promote a fairer and more equitable society.
